Meet The Doula

Hello and congratulations on your growing family!
I’m Beanie—a mom, sister, friend, and longtime caregiver. I was born and raised in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado, where my journey in caring for little ones began over 20 years ago. From helping in my mom’s in-home daycare and looking after my younger sisters, to babysitting through my school years and working as a full-time nanny, supporting families has always been at the heart of what I do.

Like many doulas, my path became clear after the birth of my son in Oak Park, IL—an empowering experience made possible by the support of a compassionate doula and midwife team. But my transition into motherhood wasn’t without its struggles. I faced hyperemesis gravidarum, insomnia, anxiety, and postpartum depression. These experiences deepened my empathy and helped shape my passion for maternal mental health and whole-family support.

As a labor and postpartum doula, I bring calm, steady, and affirming care to each birth space I enter. Whether you’re welcoming your first baby or your fifth, preparing for a planned cesarean or a VBAC, my role is to support you—your choices, your strength, your journey.

When I'm not supporting families, I’m usually elbow-deep in a creative project. I love to crochet, knit, wood burn, needle felt, paint, whittle—you name it. I’m a proud hobby collector, a lover of Japanese food, and an herbalist-in-training through the Herbal Academy. Since joining the American Herbalists Guild in 2020, my home has become a haven for dried herbs, cozy crafts, and calming remedies. I also read a lot of fantasy books and always have recommendations (even if you didn’t ask!).

My family and I love camping, road trips, taco Tuesdays, Lord of the Rings marathons, and board game nights. We’ve built a life around connection, care, and creativity—values I carry into every birth space I enter.

I can’t wait to get to know you and walk alongside you during this incredible chapter of your life.

With warmth,
Beanie

"As first time parents we had big wishes and concerns going into our pregnancy journey, and we’re so thankful we had Beanie by our side.

Not only was she an encouraging line of support during the months of pregnancy, she was a sounding board of empowerment and strength throughout our labor experience.

We have fond memories of Beanie staying the night with us in the hospital during labor. From being at our sides during the worst contractions and laughing at silly jokes when the epidural kicked in, we’re so happy Beanie is a part of our birth story.

We highly encourage any parent who’s entering this path of pregnancy/labor/postpartum and having thoughts of working with a Doula or not to count on Beanie to be a part of your team. You need so much love and support during this time, and Beanie is a marvelous capsulation of both those qualities and more!"
