Beanie Hallstrom

Hello and congratulations on your growing family! I am a mom of one, a sister of three, and a friend of many. Born and raised in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado, I have been working with babies and supporting families for over 15 years. I started my “baby journey” working in my mother’s in-home daycare, being a caretaker for my younger sisters, babysitting in middle and high-school, until eventually becoming a full time nanny. Like so many other doulas, I found my love and passion for this career after the empowering birth of my son in Oak Park, IL with a doula and midwife team.

That is not to say I had an easy transition into motherhood, it was challenging. I struggled with hyperemesis gravidarum, insomnia, anxiety, and postpartum depression. All these difficult moments in my life helped set me on my path and find my passion for birth & postpartum support, and maternal mental health. Trained as a CAPPA labor & postpartum doula, my goal is to offer endless support, encouragement, and truly empower families to follow their own path. Whether it’s your first birth, or last, a planned cesarean, or VBAC, I provide gentle, encouraging, constant support that is unique to each client’s desires towards a satisfying pregnancy, birth, and postpartum experience.

In  my free time I am a “maker” and a collector of hobbies. I crochet, knit, needle felt, wood burn, weave, paint, journal, scrapbook, whittle, garden, cook Japanese food… I think you get the idea, but I’m always looking for the next thing I can learn!  In 2020 I joined the American Herbalists Guild and have been studying herbalism through Herbal Academy since, filling my home with fragrant dried herbs and making salves for Christmas gifts. I’m an avid reader of fantasy and always have book suggestions ready for people, even if they don’t  ask. My family enjoys camping, road trips, taco Tuesday, Harry Potter, and game night.

I look forward to getting to know you!
